SWALLOW was named Charity of the Year at the Somerset Business Awards.

The charity, based in Westfield, which supports teenagers and adults with learning disabilities and provides a wide range of help and support, received the award on Friday, March 22.

Bev Craney, SWALLOW chief executive and Michelle Gibbs, HR manager, attended the ceremony, along with two members of the charity team, Sarah and Emily.

Bev said: “It was an amazing evening and such an honour for SWALLOW to be recognised in this way.

“We accepted the award on behalf of everyone involved in SWALLOW – our wonderful members and staff and volunteers and supporters.  I am so proud of what we have achieved in our 30 years.  The work that SWALLOW does, supporting some of the most vulnerable members of the local community, improves lives and empowers people.”

SWALLOW relies on voluntary donations and the support of the local community to be able to continue its work.
