Community Cinema group, Reel People are closing their current season on Friday 12 April at Kilmersdon Village Hall with a film of a remarkable true story that celebrates the power of one person to make a difference.

One Life (Cert 12), follows humanitarian Nicholas Winton, who helped hundreds of children escape German–occupied Czechoslovakia on the eve of World War II.

All main season films are shown at 8 pm. The doors and bar open at 7.15 pm. Tickets are £6 on the door. Both cash and card payments are accepted.

Reel People’s, Barry Fowler said “We leave the choice of the final film until we are about halfway through the season to allow including a film that has come along since the season opened – picking One Life as our ‘Season Finale’ was an easy decision. It’s such a compelling, inspiring yet intimate story, beautifully put together with superb performances. Anthony Hopkins is at the top of his game.”

The group have already confirmed four of the films that will be featured in the new season opening on 11 October 2024 – ‘Scrapper’, ‘Anatomy of a Fall’, ‘The Holdovers’ and ‘The Taste of Things’. Full details are available on their website – www.reelpeople.org.uk.
